Day One- Rifle range

First event: Steel challenge– A center-fire rifle (usually AR-15) with any sighting system you prefer, event comprising of 5 shots at steel plates at 50 yds and 20 shots at steel plates at 100 yds.  The first run through is done from a bench rest. A second run is off-hand (standing). Total of 50 rounds. The runs are timed and each hit is -5 seconds from your run time and each miss is + 10 seconds to your run. Accuracy is more important than speed.

  • From bench, Top 6 get points. 1st-15 points, 2nd-10 points, 3rd-7point, 4th-5 points, 5th-3 points, 6th-1 point. THESE POINT TOTALS WILL BE STANDARD THROUGHOUT ALL EVENTS.
  • Off hand, Top 6 get points.

Break for Lunch- Cookout

Third Event: Trap Shoot

  • Round one: 5 rounds from each position, clays will be fired in a standard trap format. Top 6 totals out of 25 clays will get points.
  • If there are tie scores then both(or more) shooters will get the point total for that place and it will skip to the next appropriate place. Example- two shooters get all 25 and the next best score is 24. Score will be 15 points each to the top shooters and 7 points for what will be a third place shooter.
  • Round two: 5 rounds from each position, clays shot in “wobble mode”. Top 6 scores will get points.

Second Event: Rifle Pin Shoot– Standard Club rules but will be a double* elimination tournament. Bracket will be arranged into appropriate format depending on number of entrants. If there is an uneven number of participants, the winner of the “Off hand” steel challenge will be given a bye to second round.

  • Semi Auto, Top 6 get points.
  • Manual Action, Top 6 get points.

Day 2- Pistol Shed

 

First event: Pistol Pin Shoot. Standard Club Rules but will be a double* elimination bracket with consolation rounds in the same style as the rifle pin shoot.

  • Centerfire, Top 6 get points
  • Rimfire, Top 6 get points

 

Second Event: Comprehensive Pistol. Standard club rules. 2 runs per contestant  The top 6 Scores from each run will get points.

Entrance fee:   $20 per event.     $80 for all 5 events

* – Rifle and Handgun pin shoot format may change from double elimination to single elimination based on the number of shooters. Details to be finalized as soon as possible.

Shooting Events

Handgun PIN Shoot

The pin shoots are scheduled from May through October. The handgun Pin Shoots are held one Sunday per month. Please check the club’s calendar on the website for when these events are scheduled.

There are two stages for this event. The first stage is with a center-fire handgun. Most shooters use semiautomatics, although some use revolvers with great success. Center fire calibers may be 38 spec.,9mm, 40, 45 ACP, 10mm, and 45 Colt, (no Magnum calibers). You are allowed 3 magazines with 6 rounds in each. You will be shooting at full-size bowling pins and the pin must leave the table to count.

The second stage is with a rimfire handgun. You are allowed 3 magazines with 6 rounds in each. You will be shooting at bowling pin tops and the pin need only to be knocked over.
These events are a lot of fun for all levels of marksmanship. For anyone who has not participated in one of these events before we will give personal instruction and a practice round before the start of the competition.

Rifle PIN Shoot

The pin shoots are scheduled from May through October. The rifle Pin Shoots are held one Saturday per month. Please check the club’s calendar on the website for when the event is scheduled.

For the rifle pin shoots the firearms are limited to 22LR with any type of sighting system or action you choose. Based on past events there is no advantage to open sights versus telescopic.

There are two stages for this event. The first stage is with a semi-auto 22 rimfire. You are allowed 3 magazines with 8 rounds in each. You will be shooting at bowling pin tops and the pin must simply topple to count.

The second stage is with either a bolt action, lever action or pump action 22 rimfire. You are allowed 3 magazines with 8 rounds in each. For tubular magazines, you are allowed to load 12 rounds. You will be shooting at full-size bowling pins and the pin must simply topple to count.

Trap Shoot

Wipe Your Eyes Shotgun Team League

This is a team league; each team will consist of two shooters. The league will be held for 5 weeks. As such, each team must commit to competing on the scheduled dates. If a team fails to show up, they will receive a 0 score for that day.

Comprehensive Pistol Shoot

The comprehensive pistol shoot event is designed to challenge participants
in shooting safety, speed and accuracy. As part of the timed challenge, participants will
move through four (4) shooting positions incorporating four (4) different types of targets
and at least two different firearms (centerfire and rimfire).

Rifle Steel Challenge

The rifle steel challenges are scheduled from May through October. They are held one
Saturday per month. Please check the club’s calendar on the website for the scheduled event.
The Rifle Steel Challenges are a center-fire rifle event designed to be shot with an AR-style platform. This is a
combined accuracy and timed event that is shot in two stages.

CMP 1911 Match

1911 Type Pistol Match

Course of Fire:
Standing at 50 feet for a total of (40 total shots + 5 sighters) Pistol Match

Registration commences at approximately 8:30 am. The range goes hot at approximately 9:00am. Donation of $5.00 includes a NRA B-8 25 yard target. ECI (Empty Chamber Indicators) are required (provided if you do not have one).

Course of fire 40+5 rounds as follows:

Stage 1: Left, Right or two handed 10 Shots (5 + 5) + 5 Sighters, 5 Minutes, 1 magazine change.

Stage 2: Right handed 10 Shots (5 + 5), 1 magazine change, 5 Minutes,

Stage 3: Left handed 10 Shots (5 + 5), 1 magazine change 5 Minutes.

Stage 4: Left or right or 2 handed 10 Shots (5 + 5), 1 magazine change , 70 seconds.

Ammunition: factory or re-loads with (FMJ) full-metal jacket, round nose bullets or hollow point.

Seven or Eight round magazines maybe used.

One Day Members are welcome.

Pistols: 1911 style in .45 acp or 9mm.

M1 Garand and M1A Match

Notice September 27, 2025

During the Match the 100-yard Range will be closed to members.

Time to take your M1 Garand or M1a out of the closet and join us for our annual “M1 Garand Match” at the club.

Where: WSC 100-yard range

Time: Set-up and sign in commences at 10:30 am. Match starts at 11:00. This match will follow the steel challenge.am2:30 PM

Cost: $5.00 donation which includes targets. Empty chamber indicators are required and will be provided if you do have one.

Rifle: M1 Garand or M1Aas issued

Ammunition: Your safe 30/06 or .308 ammunition. Hand loads are permitted.

Equipment: You may want to bring a spotting scope or binoculars, bench rest support and slings.

Course of Fire: SR-1 Military targets at 100 yards
Stage 1: Standing, no sling, 10 rounds (5 sighters optional), slow fire 20 minutes.

Stage 2: From the bench, rifle support or sling is allowed, 10 rounds, slow fire, 20 minutes.
