WSC Henry Tribute Scholarship Raffle 2019
For 2019 the WSC will raffle 2 Henry Rifles and offer 2 $1000 scholarships in memory of 2 Life Members of WSC.


Robert (Jim) Graham was a retired Firefighter, Sportsman, Avid Skimobiler, beloved Father Grandfather and Husband. Jim and his Wife Betsy were active members of the WSC and enjoyed rifle and trap shooting. The Henry “God Bless America Tribute Rifle” will have Jim’s initials and birthday as the serial number.

Lincoln (Linc) Sinclair, a retired Pharmacist settled in the town of Tuftonboro. Linc and his family enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Winnipesaukee, Hunting locally and in the White Mountains. Linc was loved by his family and friends. Lincs contributions to the WSC include his work with Betsy Graham on the new Clubhouse and the development of the Trap Range and program. The Henry 12-gauge Shotgun with Brass Receiver will have Linc’s initials and birthday as its serial number.

There will be 1000 tickets printed and sold at $10 per ticket/chance for the 2019 WSC Scholarship raffle. The first name drawn will have their choice of rifle, the second name will be awarded the remaining rifle.

There will be two $1000 scholarships awarded for 2019. One to a graduating senior from Moultonborough Academy that meets the established criteria. The other $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter of a WSC Club member that meets the established criteria. Both recipients will be determined by the WSC Scholarship Committee. Criteria and applications will be available on the club’s website by February 2019 or by contacting Corie Sullivan at bocosully@twc.com.

New Atlas Trap Thrower
Thanks to a grant from the Friends of the NRA our club has a new Atlas T50 single trap thrower. The machine is electrically operated by a foot pedal release and has been installed in place of the manual thrower. Please read the safety and operating instructions before use and remember to cover and unplug the machine when done using. A full demonstration will be given during  the clubs Members Day cookout.


WSC Trap Range
The club trap range is on a summer schedule until the end of September. Start times are 9am on Tuesday and the second Saturday of the month but remain at 11am on the 4th Sunday.  The cost for a round of trap (25 Birds) is $5.00. All levels of shooting ability are welcome from first timers to seasoned shooters. Shotguns are available if needed for newcomers. Please call ahead if a shotgun is needed so arrangements can be made. (Bob Sullivan - 603-253-5403) As in the past, for those members/guests who wish to shoot clays using the new manual throwers located in the shooting shed, provide your own shells (7 ½, 8 or 9) and clays. These throwers are available at all times. Please remember to release the tension on the arms when you are through.

The 2018 Spring Banquet


Scholarship Recipient

Jerry Hopkins had the pleasure of awarding the Winnipesaukee Sportsmen’s Club Scholarship on Tuesday May 29 to Jack Fogarty. Jack will study Wildlife Management at Paul Smith College in the Adirondack Mountains.

Thank you to the Scholarship Committee ( Corie Sullivan, Barbara Creelman & Jerry Hopkins) for making an excellent choice in choosing Jack. Thank you for your work in behalf of this Scholarship.



Automated External Defibrillator
Through the generosity of a club member, that wishes to remain anonymous the club now has an Automated External Defibrillator or AED located in the main shooting shed. Members will want to watch the YouTube video on its use and operation. The link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zw78XnpjAGU.


Lincoln Dressel Sinclair
Lincoln Dressel Sinclair, 95 of Melody Park Rd. Center Tuftonboro, died September 30 at his home. Lincoln was born in Holyoke, MA July 10, 1923 son of the late Alexander Brown and Gertrude (Dressel) Sinclair. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Lincoln graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and owned the Crotty Pharmacy in Westfield for many years. He moved to Tuftonboro in1985 from Westfield, MA after vacationing there since the 1950’s.

In New Hampshire he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. Lincoln was a member of the Melvin Village Community Church, Kingswood Golf Club, and the Winnipesaukee Sportsman Club, serving as an officer for 17 years.  Lincoln was pre-deceased by his wife Sabatina “Sabby” (DePalma) Sinclair in 2004. He leaves a son Douglas and his wife Carolyn of Alliance, NC, a daughter Kathleen Ruscio and her husband Frank of Westfield, MA, his two grandchildren Michael Pescitelli and his wife Casey of West Springfield, MA and Maria Scott-Smith and her husband Thomas of Westfield, MA.

He also leaves his four great-grandchildren Shane, Owen, Vincent, and Tommy as well as many nieces and nephews.  A Memorial Service will be held at the Melvin Village Community Church, 11:00 AM, November 3. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family at Springfield St. Cemetery, Feeding Hills, MA.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Melvin Village Community Church or the Wright Museum in Wolfeboro.

The Baker-Gagne Funeral Homes and Cremation Service of Wolfeboro is assisting the family with the arrangements.
